So with the crowd-funds making their way to the bank account and proof that there is enough interest in High Up Where to take it to the next level, it was time for the final, final, final check of the artwork. A new back cover, easier to read body copy and a brand new poster for the Pozible supporters. After export and submission to PrintTogether, all i could do was cross my fingers and toes…
…and wait.

In the meantime, I also worked on creating an official High Up Where webpage where customers will be able to get a feel of the what, where and why behind the book, discover where they may find the book at future stockists or purchase their own copy of High Up Where directly. I decided to utilise the Paypal payment platform. It is trusted by online shoppers around the world, I would not be responsible for collecting and protecting credit card details and wordpress had a plugin so it should be easy…Or so i thought.

Without a US bank account, customers are unable to receive tailor made shipping costs based on their location. Paypal Australia provides flat rate shipping calculation only, but as I wanted to offer the best domestic and international prices i could, I designed a work around and coded two paypal buttons that included postage. The positive outcome of this solution is that all costs and details are presented up front on the page itself, there are no hidden charges, tax, or anything else to pay.

High Up Where has landed on my doorstep! After a year of work and waiting, i was able to hold the finished copy in my hands. It was a surreal moment. The prints are amazing…Im sure everyone will not be dissapointed. The images are sharp and vibrant. The paper feels great, is a bright white matte finish and has a light fibre fleck through it. Each page is slightly thicker than on some books, which should make it a a touch more durable when read by the little kings and queens of your household.

It was touching to see my little girls excitement and have her tell me a story about the pictures…pointing to all the characters. The journey has been long and rewarding, but not over yet! Its time for packing, posting and promotion!
